Training your dog takes time and effort but the rewards are more than worth it. A trained dog is a happy dog; he knows his place within the family and what is expected of him. And it goes without saying that a trained dog is a safe dog to be around, and that goes for the adults as well as the children.

Most Dog Training Tips have the same essential message at their core: Ignore the unwanted behaviour, reward the wanted. Have fun with it, don’t make it a chore for you or you dog. It’s always a good idea, when learning a new skill, to gather as much information as possible. That’s doesn’t mean that you must put all your information into practice right away though. Start with the easy stuff; Sit, Stay etc, then work up to the more complicated commands. In fact it’s a good idea to always begin every training session with the easy stuff even when your dog knows it well. This will give them the message that training is about to begin, and it will build their confidence. Take a look at the list on the left hand side of this site for more specific dog training tips.
